NecroRogIcon Archive
Welcome to the NecroRogIcon archive, a collection of loosely connected articles written by Rog between the years of 1999-2009.
I've separated these articles from my regular blog for the sake of giving myself a clean slate, although it's probably not a bad idea performance-wise either.
I've maintained a personal site of ramblings since the web began and perhaps even before (do Usenet rants count?). In 1999 a friend convinced me to start storing the articles and most of them have been since then, here for better or worse.
The articles are varied. Some make me look like a fool, some I hope have insights or info you may find useful. I wasn't extremely prolific, over the decade there are just 1169 articles (9.74 articles per month) that I've kept. I also admit to having removed some articles, mostly due to political debate I grew tired of.
On the whole, it's not much different than any other blog, other than longevity I suppose.
Some of my interests (Videogames for instance) are well covered here, some are not (Kinky sexuality is only hinted at, hah). There's no overriding theme, although I tried at a few here and there for periods of time.
I've converted these archives into static html for sanity, so the search is via Google. Hopefully the search populates soonish on this new subdomain. Meanwhile there is a list you can browse by month.
Enjoy.
Moving to Wordpress
I'm moving off of Drupal and back onto Wordpress.
This is a good time for me to reboot my blog cleanly.
To make it easier on myself I'm going to archive most of the existing content by just converting to static pages and moving the old stuff to a subdomain. I'm not too worried about old links except for a few specific pages. As long as people can find the content I'm pretty happy. I'm hardly chasing my Googlerank these days, I'm mostly interested in supporting my core audience (friends, family + peeps finding any useful info).
So archived content will end up at oldblog.gameslate.com and new content will remain on my primary subdomains: rog.gameslate.com and necrorogicon.com.
I'll port over my existing customized theme, that will be the most time-consuming part.
Since I'm going to completely remove Drupal, I'll have to find a solution for our guild site. I may use Wordpress there as well, adding users as multiple authors.
Comments will be disabled on the archive.
