Not on hold, just re-scheduled

Rog posted in

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness hits in 5 days. Only, I'll be very entrenched in Age of Conan at that time, assuming Funcom's servers don't implode. Not only that, but the PC version of Mass Effect comes to shelves in 12 days.

PC gamers are going to be knee-deep in quality entertainment this month of May. Dare I say it, I have to declare this month shall be legendary and have large reaching influences into the months that follow.

I'm trying not to call this a matter of priorities, because how can I place three games I've anticipated so strongly into some sort of grab bag and pull one out? Their greatness falls into different categories, they cannot be reasonably placed on a tier. But the laws of time and physics dictate I cannot possibly play all three games at once, so (as is the case in much of my gaming time): the multiplayer experience trumps. Friends first and all that. =)

I will have to play the other two games at a later date. ~sigh~ Life is so hard with all these decisions eh?

New OtRSPoDE1 Trailer

Rog posted in

Gabe at Penny Arcade calls it the "real" and "definitive" trailer for On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One. It does demonstrate much better how their game will actually play. Watch for yourself:

Penny Arcade: OtRSPoDE1 Trailer

Rog posted in

As previously mentioned, just the mere concept of Penny Arcade + Hothead Games + Ron Gilbert has me in a puddle of drool. Here's the first trailer for Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One.

Ron Gilbert + Penny Arcade

Rog posted in

Gabe over at Penny Arcade has leaked a note about Ron Gilbert working together with them on their upcoming Penny Arcade Adventures game, along with Vancouver's own Hothead Games.

I've been a huge Ron Gilbert fan ever since as a nerdy teen I played Maniac Mansion on my C=64. You can read more about Mr. Gilbert on his own Grumpy Gamer blog and of course Penny Arcade's site also speaks for itself.

I'm going to pre-order the first installment of the game right away and if they don't let me pre-order, I'm going to consider throwing a little fit, but in reality I'll ask humbly: "why not?"

I'm staying tuned.
