You know what? I'm gonna be in L.A. during the opening of Star Wars: Episode One and I'm probably not going to see it. I'm going to wait until I get back from my trip, unless we happen upon the theatre and the line is empty (yeah, right). This is me, Rog, the guy who saw the first film a total of 29 times during the original run in theatres back in 1977. What can I say, I was 9 years old, I didn't have much of a life and if you went to the bathroom between shows you didn't have to pay to see it twice.

Each movie I've seen lately, I've snuck out of the theatre to avoid the Star Wars previews. I hate the hype and I want to enjoy the film on its own merits. Meanwhile, people say they've been going to see movies they thought were crap because "that trailer was great". It seems like the entire population. I hate to rain on your parade, but you folks are lunatics. Boba-Fett could do a strip-tease in the trailer and I'm still not gonna pay just to see a 3.5 minute hype-fest. And for the full film I'm certainly not going to camp in front of the theatre, not for 6 weeks, or even anything more than 20 minutes. Well.. maybe if I have a good book to read.
